The first phase of the 100MW (megawatt) onshore power transformation equipment of the Copenhagen Infrastructure Fund (CIP) Zhangfang and Xidao Offshore Wind Power Project has successfully joined the Taipower system. In the future, based on the experience of the first phase of the project, the second phase of the onshore substation project of Zhangfang West Island Wind Farm will be completed, and the total installed capacity will reach 600MW.

The onshore substation of Zhangfang West Island Wind Farm is located in Zhangbin Industrial Zone. It is the first construction project of the Zhangfang and West Island offshore wind farm plan. It is divided into two phases of 100MW in the first phase and 500MW in the second phase. The month officially started.

The localization projects required in this project are three components of switchboards, switchgear and transformers, accounting for only 25% of the overall contract value. As a turnkey contractor, it has the full power to arrange design, procurement, construction and other projects, far exceeding government regulations.

The manpower allocation of the onshore substation project of Zhangfang West Island Wind Farm was built with nearly 100% local resources. The main equipment of the substation project was supplied by local Taiwanese manufacturers, including: Shihlin Electric’s transformers and reactors, TECO’s switchgear and switchboards, and Walsin Lihwa land cables.

In addition, Taixing Engineering is responsible for building design and civil engineering, and Zhenyi Construction is responsible for the installation of land cable pipes. Finally, the SCADA communication system, which is crucial to the operation of the wind farm, is participated by local manufacturer Leili Technology. With the efforts of the planning team, contractors, and equipment suppliers, as well as the guidance and assistance of each unit of Taipower from design to testing, the first phase of 100MW onshore power transformation equipment was successfully added to the Taipower system.

Zhangfang and Dennis Sanou, CEO of Xidao Offshore Wind Power Project, said that the onshore substation is an important link in the power transmission and distribution of the power system, and it is also the last stop before the parallel connection of offshore wind farms to Taipower. The completion of the first phase of 100MW onshore substation equipment of the Zhangfang-Xidao Offshore Wind Power Project is an important indicator of the completion of the Zhangfang West Island Wind Farm. The affirmation of the technical capacity of the business team.
